Notes

Creating a Gluten-Free Option

Using potato starch instead of flour is a great option for making potato kugel gluten-free. Potato starch is a fine, white powder made from potatoes, and it works well as a thickening agent and binder in recipes.

By substituting potato starch for flour in your potato kugel recipe, you can create a dish that is safe for those with gluten sensitivities or celiac disease. It also makes it kosher for passover.

When making this substitution, use the same amount of potato starch as you would flour in the recipe.

Enhancing the Recipe

While potato kugel is traditionally made with grated potatoes, onions, eggs, and seasonings, you can customise it to suit your taste preferences.

Consider incorporating additional ingredients such as grated courgette or carrot for added texture and flavour. These colourful vegetables not only enhance the visual appeal of the dish but also contribute to its nutritional value.
